Organova Bio-agriculture Private Limited is a result of intense thought derived from practices of modern agriculture and its deteriorating impact on quality of food, soil, water and the resultant ecosystem.

Modern Agriculture may be simply defined as ‘Chemical-Dependent Agriculture’. Assume we consume 10 million tons of soil nutrition to produce sufficient food, in the process we deplete the soil. So restoring the soil nutrition through chemicals as a means to balance soil health has resulted in overall depletion of ecology. In the next 10 years, we (India) may need 40 million tons of soil nutrition to offer us, say an approximate 300 million tons of foods. We need to critically analyse whether our soils are in a position to offer us the same.

What do we compromise to achieve crop productivity? Inherently toxic chemicals and selectively toxic chemicals are targeted as crop protection options compromising health and environmental hazards. Quantity can’t be achieved at the cost of quality. Crop protection chemicals again are inherent to modern agriculture and agro-chemical companies continue to target single molecules with selective toxicity as an alternative to general toxicity as a safe option. Chemical-dependent Agriculture continues to dominate and Agro-chemical companies are rampant.

Agro-Chemical companies that produce and sell synthetic chemical inputs, traditionally, are not agriculture companies, they are chemical companies that sell chemicals for agriculture. We may not expect chemical companies to understand the Bio-dynamic nature of agriculture and produce ecosystem products. Bio-Agriculture companies are the right choice for the future to produce and supply agriculture inputs. Singly molecules cannot produce systemic response in an ecosystem, while only ecosystem participants can only become potential agriculture inputs or products. So bio-agriculture companies that offer systemic ecosystem products as agri inputs should drive the future of agriculture.
